Setting Up Your Workspace
Walk through the five-step setup wizard to get your workspace ready.
5 min readWhen you first create your Field Onboard account, a guided setup wizard walks you through five steps to configure your workspace. You won't be able to access the rest of the platform until setup is complete.
Step 1 — Connect Your CRM
Choose the CRM you use to manage your business. Field Onboard currently supports Jobber and HouseCall Pro. Connecting your CRM allows quotes, contacts, and jobs to sync automatically.
- Jobber connects via OAuth — you'll be redirected to Jobber to authorize access, then brought back to Field Onboard.
- HouseCall Pro connects by entering your API key and configuring your webhook URL.
If you don't use either CRM yet, you can skip this step and run Field Onboard in standalone mode.
Step 2 — Business Profile
Enter your core business information:
- Business Name (required) — displayed on agreements sent to customers
- Business Email (required) — used as the sender address for agreement emails
- Phone Number (required) — shown on agreements and used for SMS delivery
- DBA / Trade Name (optional)
- Website (optional)
- Logo (optional) — appears on your branded signing page
Step 3 — Service Frequencies
Configure how you offer recurring services:
- Industry — pick from common home-service industries or choose "Other." This preselects typical frequency options.
- Available Frequencies — select the recurring frequencies you offer (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.)
- Billing Mode — choose between billing per month or per visit. This affects how recurring revenue metrics are calculated.
Step 4 — SMS Verification
To send agreements and reminders via text message, your business number needs toll-free verification through Twilio. You'll enter:
- Legal business name and address
- Business type (sole proprietor, LLC, corporation, etc.)
- EIN (if not a sole proprietor)
Verification typically takes 1–3 business days. You can use email delivery in the meantime.
Step 5 — Notifications
Set up who receives alerts and how:
- Invite team members — add coworkers by email so they can access the workspace
- Alert recipients — choose who gets notified when quotes are approved or agreements are signed
- Product updates — opt in to hear about new features
After completing all five steps, you'll land on your workspace dashboard, ready to create templates and send agreements.
