The Customer Signing Experience
What your customers see when they receive and sign an agreement.
4 min readWhen you send an agreement, your customer receives a link (via email, SMS, or both) that takes them to a branded signing page. Here's what the experience looks like from their side.
Step 1 — Consent
The customer sees your business name and logo (if uploaded) and a consent notice explaining that they're about to review and sign a document electronically. They click to proceed.
Step 2 — Review the Agreement
The full agreement PDF is displayed for the customer to read. If the agreement contains multiple PDFs (a signing packet), they can navigate through each document.
Step 3 — Sign
The customer fills in the required fields you placed on the document:
- Full Name — typed into a text field
- Signature — drawn or typed
- Property Address — entered or confirmed
- Date — auto-populated with the current date
Once all required fields are completed, the customer submits their signature.
After Signing
- The agreement status changes to Completed in your workspace
- A signed copy of the PDF is stored in Field Onboard
- You and your team receive a notification (if configured)
- The customer sees a confirmation page
Branding
The signing page displays your business name and logo, giving customers a professional, branded experience. You can configure your branding in Settings → Business Profile.
